This poster will present the results of the ESA funded project "Contamination Repellent Coatings (CRC)" after the final longterm UV and contamination exposure test with close to 10.000esh under thermal vacuum and UV irradiation.

In the course of the project, several coating candidates were identified and pretested in order to mitigate contamination on OSR´s, coverglasses and thermo-optical white coatings. The most promising candidates were introduced into the long term campaign at the end of the project. The campaign was planned in several phases to simulate various steps of a mission with variation of temperature, UV intensity, amount and type of contaminant.

The outcome of the UV test campaign showed that some of the CRC´s were stable under the conditions of the exposure campaign but that further investigations might be necessary to prove and to verify the exact mechanisms how a CRC can protect a surface or a substrate.
